Everyone wants to be a great cook, but no one wants to learn the tricks that will help them get there. Here are a few you should start using today if you want better tasting and easier time preparing meals.
Start using food containers
Cutting vegetables every night before cooking is one of the biggest time wasters in the world. Unless you love cutting vegetables, it can get nerve wracking very quickly. A much easier solution is to spend an hour cutting all the vegetables once a week and you can throw everything in the food containers. They retain their flavor much better when you do it this way, which means that when you go cook them, the food will taste better.
Be careful with the spices
Spices are amazing and can take the flavor of food to the next level, but only if you use them correctly. After they’ve been sitting around for a while, they start to lose flavor, so start buying them separately when you’re done with them. This also means that if you use a certain spice regularly, you can buy one of the larger jars, but if you only use it on rare occasions, with the smallest amount of spice possible, even if you think you’re getting a better deal, go for the bigger one.
Don’t put them in the fridge
If you enjoy eating berries , you can stick them in the fridge and they will retain their perfect taste. Other fruits should not be thrown in the fridge as they will reduce their taste, so start keeping them off display and they will improve the look of the kitchen while keeping their taste. I would make an exception if you live in a very hot climate, because if you leave the fruit out without eating it right away, it won’t take long to render it useless.
You don’t need extra heat
Everyone wants to enjoy tasty food every night, but the only time most of them get to experience a delicious dish is when they visit a restaurant. One of the biggest problems is cooking food for too long, especially grains and vegetables. When you take something off the heat, it continues to cook away due to the internal temperature, so try taking your food off the heat a few minutes faster and see if that makes a difference to the taste.
Use two cutting boards
You certainly have enough space in your kitchen cabinets to store more than one cutting board, so i recommend having at least 2 at the very least. Even if you wipe your cutting board clean after using it, the next thing you slice can easily absorb some of the previous smells. A good example is cutting fresh fruit on a cutting board after you have already used it to cut onions and garlic. If you like the taste of garlic, you can forget everything I’ve said.
